A California native, Dr. Afifi earned his undergraduate degree in biology at UC Berkeley before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. He is committed to combining advanced surgical techniques with warm, personalized care that puts patients at ease, and is honored to carry forward the legacy Dr. Carroll built over more than three decades of serving the Almaden Valley community. Meet Dr. Oshita

Dr. Oshita is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Almaden Valley Oral Surgery. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UCLA before completing his medical degree (MD) and oral and maxillofacial surgery training at UCSF Medical Center, one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers. During his training at UCSF, Dr. Oshita gained broad, hands-on experience across the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including facial trauma, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, oral pathology, TMJ disorders, and IV sedation. This diverse background allows him to care for patients facing a wide range of needs, from routine extractions to complex reconstructive procedures.

Dr. Oshita believes that great surgical care starts with genuine connection. He treats every patient like family — taking the time to listen, explain, and make sure each person feels informed and comfortable at every step of their treatment. For Dr. Oshita, open communication isn’t just a courtesy; it’s the foundation of trust between doctor and patient. Dr. Oshita is committed to bringing the same level of precision, compassion, and dedication to every patient at Almaden Valley Oral Surgery that defined his years of training at two of the country’s top institutions.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Oshita enjoys cooking, photography, traveling, and volunteering at local dog shelters. Above all, he treasures time spent with his loved ones.
